FINANCIAL MGMT ANALYST II

Occupational Summary
Assist with the preparation of financial analyses and reports, including but not limited to operational budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses, and other financial information originating in the University Budget Office.
Duties
- Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget for CAMC departments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university guidelines. (20%)
- Perform financial analysis and report creation for CAMC departments to identify strategic opportunities, risks, alternatives, and contingencies. (20%)
- Assist the Director of Budgets and Analysis with coordinating the preparation of Duke University's annual and quarterly financial reports for senior management and Board of Trustee review. (20%)
- Collaborate with business unit financial managers regarding financial position, cash flows, accounts, budgets, financial transactions, and other related financial matters. (25%)
- Assist with the year-end close process for CAMC departments, ensuring financial managers review transactions for accuracy and compliance with university guidelines, while also communicating significant budget variances to the Director for appropriate action. (10%)
- Perform other special projects and related duties as assigned. (5%)
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP.
- Experience with Analysis for Office preferred.
Education
Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field. CPA is desirable.
Experience
Work requires three years experience in financial management, cost accounting or a field directly related to specialized area of assignment OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
