Position Title: Iron Dukes Financial Analyst

 

Summary

 

Duke Athletics Development is seeking a Financial Analyst. This individual will manage all incoming pledges and donations made to the Iron Dukes and to the Duke Athletics Department. This individual will liaise with various constituents on campus to ensure financial compliance and accurate financial reporting. This individual will report to the Executive Director for Strategic Initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

· Manage the gift entry process in the Duke Athletics database (Paciolan)

· Reconcile any gifts made through the University’s database (DADD) into Paciolan

· Generate all acknowledgement letters to donors once gifts or pledges are made

· Handle recurring/ongoing credit card gifts, as required, ensuring charges begin and end as requested by each donor

· Oversee quality control for all gift entry and biographical information to ensure accurate donor priority levels are maintained

· Complete daily, weekly, monthly and yearly financial reports.

· Serve as the primary liaison between Duke Athletics and the Alumni and Development Records (ADR) Office

· Manage Iron Dukes gift acceptance process ensuring it is in-line with ADR best practices

· Manage the gift entry team in the Iron Dukes Office

· Liaise with Athletics Department CFO to ensure all gifts are designated to the appropriate fund codes.

· Track donor giving history, engagement levels, and compliance with donor agreements.

· Monitor and analyze budget performance against targets, identifying areas for improvement

· Collaborate with the athletics development team to provide donor leads for Annual Fund

· Ensure Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) contributions are accurately reflected in DADD and Paciolan

· Liaise with Alumni Engagement & Development Counsel and the University Endowment Office on pledge agreements and endowment agreements, respectively, to ensure compliance

· Must be attentive to detail and accurate in record keeping, including maintaining donor database and acquiring donor lists based on specific criteria

· Demonstrate a strong work ethic, high level of integrity and honesty

· Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Job Skill Requirements

 

Work requires sharp attention to detail, strong written communication skills, a high-level of customer service, and analytical and organizational skills.

 

Education:

Work requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.

 

Experience:

Work requires three years’ experience in financial management, cost accounting or a field directly related to specialized area of assignment.

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education

Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field. CPA is desirable.

 

Experience

 

Work requires three years experience in financial management, cost OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE accounting or a field directly related to specialized area of assignment.
