The Duke Health and Well-Being Program is nationally recognized for its longstanding commitment to whole-person health through excellence in care delivery, research, and education.  The program is comprised of three specific units: Duke Integrative Medicine, the Duke Health and Fitness Center, and Duke Diet and Fitness.

Duke Integrative Medicine combines conventional medical treatments with complimentary therapies to achieve optimal patient outcomes.  In addition to a primary care practice, patients have access to consultative physicians whose practice aligns with integrative medicine principles, emotional wellness, nutrition and weight management, acupuncture, therapeutic massage, yoga, and health coaching.  Embedded in Duke Integrative Medicine is the Duke Leadership Program in Health and Well-Being, a one-year curriculum that combines distance learning and in-person opportunities that prepares participants to develop, launch, lead, sustain, and grow health and well-being culture in health systems.  We also sponsor a robust program in health coaching.

The Diet and Fitness Program is one of the oldest and most recognized medical weight management programs in the country.  Known for its residential weight management approaches with foundations in dietary education, exercise and fitness, and emotional/behavioral wellness, the program is evolving in to a comprehensive outpatient program with expertise in medical and surgical weight loss that serves pediatric and adult patients.
