Position Summary:

Duke University is seeking a qualified candidate for the Director of Player Development position. This position will oversee the coordination and organization of student-athlete development within the football program. Candidates must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Liaison to former players
  • Liaison to the Iron Dukes
  • Liaison to Collective/NIL activities
  • Coordinate special guest invites to team events and away games
  • Liaison to academics
    • Manage class checks
    • Report back to coaching/strength staff about players missing obligations
    • Coordinate post practice golf cart shuttles for players to get to/from class
  • Player housing management
  • Player parking management
  • Liaison to parents of current team
  • Manage and grow the scale of all community service initiatives
  • Coordinate guest speaker programming
  • Manage home and away player tickets
  • Travel With Team to Away Games
    • Manage attendance and curfew check at all away travel and hotel functions
    • Assist at check-in during TSA screening
    • Support player guest tickets as needed by ticket office
    • Assist with wives trip
  • Attend home hotel the night before the game
    • Manage attendance and curfew check at all team functions
  • In game responsibility of assisting with former players and donors
  • Coordinate logistics and needs for new player orientation / move-in
    • With Assoc. Director of Football Recruitment
  • Manage curfew check assignments during preseason camp
  • Attend meetings/practice when there is a working purpose
  • Attend all staff meetings
  • Support operations department as needed
  • Support recruiting efforts as needed
  • Additional duties as needed to drive the success of the Duke Football Program

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at once
  • Proficiency in many computer system such as but not limited to all Microsoft systems and Adobe.
  • Ability to learn quickly and communicate effectively
  • Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time well and prioritize tasks

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 1 year of related operational and program experience (2 years preferred), preferably with a Division I program

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

 

Experience

 

Work requires three years of experience in program administration or OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.
