General Description of the Job Class
The Director HR Business Partner plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our human resources functions. The Director, HR Business Partner, will supervise a team of HR Business Partners, and is responsible for managing a team and is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving HR service delivery for their designated entity. Strategic leadership will drive efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment across HR processes. This role also collaborates with cross-functional teams, provides guidance, and ensures seamless execution of HR initiatives.
This role will manage HR services for Finance (including the Patient Revenue Management Organization and Supply Chain) and the Occupational and Environmental Safety Office.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Strategic Leadership:

Identify themes, needs, and issues facing the system and develop strategies, policies, communications, training and programs to support the workforce

Communicate broad themes and needs identified by HRBPs to AVPs and DUHS CHRO and develop strategies, policies, communications, training and programs to improve HR services

Strategic Alignment: Deliver HR services that address the entity's unique needs in alignment with its overall HR and organizational strategies.

Collaborate with central HR offices on critical workforce planning trends

Plan and implement broad workforce, culture, and DE&I strategy initiatives
Operational Excellence:

Provide guidance and development to HR team - Support HRBPs as they advise managers and leaders on workforce strategies and leverage tools developed by centers of expertise. Support HRBPs to deploy, communicate and train units on new HR programs, policies, and processes as necessary

Manage continuous improvement in HR service delivery and serve as a liaison for leadership for institutional process, policy, or practice changes

Monitor progress toward service level performance metrics

Facilitate resolution of service delivery issues in collaboration with HR offices, TCC, and division leadership

Ensure consistency in HR policies and practices, while also meeting the unique needs of the leadership and entities

Oversee annual workforce and succession planning initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred.
Experience
6 years of progressive human resources-related experience. Healthsystem, hospital, or Academic Medical Center experience preferred. Experience working in a generalist role or within at least 2 different HR specialties is preferred.
Degrees, licensures, Certifications
Professional HR Certification (PHR or SHRM- CP) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations in human resources
- The successful candidate will have the ability to lead and inspire team members, cultivating growth and development and driving alignment of standard work and expectations across the team
- Must possess a strong customer service orientation, and demonstrate a strong ability to drive projects and initiatives through to successful resolution
- Will understand the business and develop and align innovative solutions to achieve organizational priorities
- Must be able to build relationships with leaders and staff at all levels, including demonstration of partnerships with senior leaders where you are able to collaborate and influence

- Provide strategic thought leadership while also leading daily operations of the team
- Provide consultation on work culture and engagement, inclusion and belonging, total rewards, talent acquisition, talent development and retention, succession planning, proactive employee relations, workforce planning, change management, analytics, coaching and performance management, and well-being and partner closely with Center for Excellence teams and working closely with our other Director/Business Partners
- Proactively leverage HR analytics information to tell the story of what is happening, develop solutions, and measure effetiveness and continue to refine aproach
- Understand and apply policies and procedures, while thinking creatively and working to meet the unique needs of leaders and staff
