As the Data Administration Analyst in Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, you’ll be a vital part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team that supports students from diverse backgrounds and empowers evidence-informed decision-making across the undergraduate experience.

You’ll work closely with the Senior Business Analyst, the Director of Quad Advising, and the Lead Academic Dean to ensure data integrity, drive strategic assessment, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

The Data Administration Analyst is more than a technical role — it’s a strategic partner in shaping the future of undergraduate education. You’ll design and manage data systems, analyze trends, and deliver insights that inform key decisions across Trinity College.

 

What You’ll Do:

Data Management (40%)

  • Develop tools and metrics to support unit-level assessment initiatives.
  • Design and implement data collection systems for institutional evaluation.
  • Clean, score, and merge data from diverse sources including surveys, interviews, academic records, and tech platforms.
  • Identify and resolve data anomalies, recommending process improvements.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and uphold data privacy and security standards.

Assessment and Analysis (35%)

  • Collaborate with partners to identify gaps and develop valid, reliable assessment instruments.
  • Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Interpret results and provide evidence-based recommendations for improvement.

Reporting, Visualization, and Training (25%)

  • Create visually compelling reports, dashboards, and presentations for campus stakeholders.
  • Prepare materials for seminars, strategic planning, and public communications.
  • Provide training and support on assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Engage in committees and collaborate on shared data initiatives across the institution.

 

Anticipated Pay Range

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $59,829.00 to USD $104,550.  Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, education, statistics, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in data management, assessment, or institutional research — ideally in education or nonprofit settings.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, R, SPSS, SAS, Tableau, STATA).
  • Strong data visualization and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Understanding of student development and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Strong oral, written, and intercultural communication skills.
