The Marcus Center for Cellular Cures (MC3) https://marcuscenter.duke.edu/ has an exciting growth opportunity for a motivated individual to fill a Courier position in their Carolinas Cord Blood Bank operations. The position is located on – site at 2400 Pratt Street, Durham, N.C.
Schedule for this position is Mon-Fri, 6:30 am -3:00 pm. Occasional Saturday coverage required.
Education/Training
Work requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions generally acquired through a partial high school education.
Experience
None required or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Other Requirements:
Valid NC Driver’s license required. Clean driving record and ability to pass a drivers’ license background check every two years required.

The incumbent will perform a variety of courier and delivery duties utilizing a motor vehicle as necessary to ensure the timely and proper distribution of cord blood units, maternal samples, and supplies for the Carolinas Cord Blood Bank (CCBB). A Duke University vehicle will be provided for these duties.
- Transport cord blood units and samples from designated CCBB collection sites to the CCBB Processing Lab. Distribute supplies to the collection sites. Make regular Saturday courier trips to the Local CCBB collection sites. Cover Local weekday courier schedule as needed.
- Clean and inspect Remote Shippers on a weekly basis and document the quality control and cleaning status of each.
- Assist with pickup and delivery of samples, file boxes, and other items as requested. Retrieve requested supplies or file boxes from CCBB Off-Site storage upon request.
- Inspect vehicle equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, and gas. Maintain cleanliness of vehicle. Report mechanical problems and deliver vehicle to designated location for service and repair, as necessary.
- Assist CCBB Supply-Room staff with the assembly of stock supplies and collection kits.

Anticipated Pay Range:
Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $18/hour USD $22.42/hour.
