Be You.
The Department of Population Health is seeking a Clinical Resource Specialist, Sr. to join the Bellwether Collaborative for Health Justice (BCHJ), an interdisciplinary research team led by Dr. Lauren Brinkley-Rubinstein, united by a dedication to shining a light on health disparities and societal inequalities driven by mass incarceration.
With over 6.5 million adults involved in the American criminal legal system, mass incarceration has a far-reaching impact on the health and well-being of individuals and entire communities. Even brief periods of incarceration can disqualify people from housing and employment opportunities, exacerbate mental and behavioral health conditions, and place people at increased risk for chronic illness.
The Collaborative seeks to address the deleterious effects of mass incarceration by engaging in innovative, high-impact research that centers the voice and experiences of those most affected by the carceral system.
Since its foundation in 2016, the Collaborative has become a leader in the field of carceral health research, contributing to over 150 publications and academic presentations and receiving over 15 awarded grants from federal and private sponsors.
