Occ Summary
Plan and provide advanced and/or specialized n ursing care for patientsin accordance with guidelines established within the Discipline ofNursing Clinical Ladder Program andthe North Carolina Board of Nursing.The position will provide local level leadership in th e areas ofadministration, education, informatics and quality.
<h 3>Work Performed
Identify care needs for patient populations acro ssthe continuum ofcare. Collaborate and provide leadership in the develo pment of standardsof care, patient/family education and staff education toaddress theneeds of specific populations. Collaborate with multidiscip linary teamand provide leadership within the delivery of patient care.Pr ovide leadership in educational activities, departmental committees,rese arch projects and other health-related projects.Provide evaluation, dire ction and guidance in the proper selection, use,care and control of mate rial resources. Appraise quality andeffectiveness of material and equipm ent and collaborate with appropriatedepartments toassist with vendor se lection and feedback on performance.Guide the professional growth of oth ers across the continuum of carethrough role modeling, coaching and/or m entoring. This may includedesigning orientation modules, primary precept ing of senior nursingstudents.Provide leadership at a departmental, enti ty, community orregional/national level for initiatives focused on impro ving the qualityof care for populations of patients and growth of others .Conduct performance reviews.Effectively recommend personnel actions inc luding, but not limited to,hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, terminations andother related activities.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.CNIV PathwaysLeadership/R egulatory: Monitor clinical practice and ensure complianceto practice st andards and regulatory standards. Collaborate withunit/clinic leadership to coach and mentor nursing colleagues. Influencerecruitment and develop ment of staff.Education: Plan and deliver in house education sessions or collaboratewith subject matter experts. Keep up to date with evidence-ba sed nursingpractices and adult education. Assess educational needs of st aff.Partners with clinical nurse educator and clinical nurse specialistt oaddress unit educational needs.Informatics: Serve as a superuser forcli nical information systems.Disseminate and communicate information tostaf f regarding adoption ofor changes to technology. Facilitate serviceticke ts and troubleshootefficiency concerns with staff. Provide trainingand t echnologyeducation support on the unit. Serve as a change agent and faci litateadoption of new technology on the unit.Quality/Research/Innovation : Collaborate with subject matter experts toanalyze patient care data to identify trends and areas for improvement.Participate in multidisciplin ary committees focused on quality andpatient safety. Provide guidance an d support to nursing staff in qualityassurance and best practices.Engage in research and innovationinitiatives to develop new methodologies and technologies for enhancingpatient care.
