Occ Summary
Plan and provide professional nursing care fo r patients in accordancewith the medical and nursing plans of care and e stablished policies andprocedures. Provide nursing services to patients andfamilies inaccordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the Nort hCarolinaBoard of Nursing.
Work Performed
Plan, provi de and document professional nursing care, utilizing thenursing process, in accordance with physician orders and establishedpolicies and procedur es under the supervision of the team leader orcharge nurse.Delegate task s and supervise the activities of other licensed andunlicensed care prov iders.Assist other healthcare personnel in the delivery of patient care. Participate in maintaining the environment of care including equipmentan d material resources. Prioritize work organization and identifyresources available to assist in completing components of care in atimely manner.P articipate in own professional development by maintaining requiredcompet encies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriateassistance ore ducational offerings.Support the development of other staff and formalle arners.Participate in the identification of clinical or operational perf ormanceimprovement opportunities and assist in performance improvementac tivities.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described h erein.

Education
Work requires gradua tion from an accredited BSN program.Exception: Registered nurses hired b etween July 1, 2014 and April 11,2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nur sing (or higher) are encouragedto enroll in an appropriate BSN program w ithin two years of their startdate but must complete the program within seven years of theirstartdate. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2 014 are not required toenroll in a BSN program to remain in this job cla ssification.
Experience
No experience required.All CN Is will be enrolled in and must complete the DUHS Vizient NurseResidency Program within 12 months of hire.

Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of N orthCarolina. BLS required.
