Pediatric Engagement Center - 4825 Creekstone Drive, Durham, NC

 

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified in our Pediatric Engagement Center clinic located in Durham, NC. The Medical Assistant, Certified, performs routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System remote practice that assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic/office runs smoothly. The Triage Nurse position is based in Durham, NC at a non-clinical office site. 

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process Prescription Refills both electronic and via rightfax. Pend for provider
  • DME forms processing
  • Answer live calls regarding prescription refills, prior authorizations, appointments, etc
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Document in Maestro Care
  • Disseminates messages according to standard work in assigned specialty area.
  • Demonstrates a positive, concerned, and sensitive response in the work environment
  • Interacts with patients, providers, community services and all personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Demonstrates respect for individual, cultural, and social differences.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients, providers, co-workers.
  • EPIC experience preferred

 

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
  • High school or GED graduation required.
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.  Please indicate on resume which certification you have, the certification number, and expiration date.
  • BLS required
  • Level I -- No experience required.
  • Level II -- 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified in a clinical setting.

 

JOB HOURS:

Hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. No weekends or Duke designated holidays. Once fully oriented, this work can be done as a hybrid model. This means a rotating schedule of working remotely and from the office.
