Coordinator, Education Program Marketing and Recruitment

This position plays a critical role in attracting qualified, passionate and diverse students to the Duke Global Health Institute’s educational programs by designing and implementing marketing strategies that showcase the institute’s programs. The person in this role collaborates with members of the education and communication teams to develop and execute marketing strategies for DGHI’s Master of Science in Global Health program, as well as providing communications and marketing support for DGHI’s other undergraduate and graduate programs. This includes coordinating online and social media advertising, managing email communication with prospective students, and developing brochures, web pages and other materials that promote the programs . This role also includes responsibility for organizing and carrying out virtual and in-person events that promote global health education and the DGHI student experience, including informational events for prospective students, new student orientation, an annual student research showcase and commencement ceremonies.


Duties and Responsibilities

Education program marketing 

Work collaboratively with DGHI’s education and communication teams to plan and develop marketing strategies and campaigns for the M.S. in Global Health program, ensuring the program meets goals for the quantity and quality of each year’s class. This includes crafting persuasive messages to encourage application and enrollment in the program; overseeing advertising to prospective students;  managing direct e-mail campaigns; and developing supporting print and online materials about the program.

  • Coordinate implement ation of campaigns to reach prospectivestudents through paid search advertising, social media, website retargeting and other means.
  • Work with the education team to develop and update online and print materials that promote DGHI’s educational programs, including websites, brochures, flyers and presentations.
  • Advise on student communication issues, including working with the education team to identify effective strategies for communicating with current students and alumni through email and social media.
  • Identify opport unities and implement strategies for outreach to departments, programs and student groups at Duke and beyond that have the potential to refer students to our programs.
  • Manage listings of DGHI programs in relevant directories.


Virtual and in-person events 

  • Assist in the planning and execution of events su ch as live chats, online forums and DGHI’s annual day for admitted students.
  • Lead the planning and execution of events related to the DGHIstudent experience, including orientation, the annual student research showcase and commencement.
  • Represent DGHI at fairs and conferences to market education programs to prospective students, advisors and others.


Data and contact management 

  • Identify, acquire and maintain lists of prospective students, current students and alumni. Keep lists updated in an email marketing platform used by the education and communications teams to communicate with key audiences.
  • Identify and maintain lists of advisers, related programs and others who may refer students to our programs.
  • Develop expertise in contact management systems and databases as it relates to prospective students and applications. 
  • Track and analyze data to demonstrate campaign results and informshifts in strategies and/or resources.


Branding and promotional materials 
Work with DGHI communications team to develop and supply branded items (T-shirts, notebooks, stickers, etc.) to be used in student marketing campaigns.


Budgeting and planning 

  • Oversee and allocate annual budget for student marketing.
  • Track and process expenses related to projects.


Minimum Qualifications

Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.


Work requires one year of experience in a placement, financial aid, admissions, or other student services function to become familiar with the student services area of specialty. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
