Job Title: Clinical Speech-Language Pathologist
Job Summary:
The Clinical Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for individuals with communication disorders, with a focus on neurogenic conditions. This role also supports clinical research activities, including study coordination, data collection, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Administer speech-language evaluations and develop treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based therapy and counsel patients and families on communication disorders.
- Document diagnostic findings, therapy progress, and outcomes in medical records.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care.
Research & Administrative Support:
- Participate in research related to communication disorders; assist in protocol development and data collection.
- Manage study documentation, participant recruitment, and consent for clinical trials.
- Support regulatory submissions, sponsor communications, and study monitoring visits.
- Maintain compliance with institutional and IRB guidelines.
Program Coordination & Outreach:
- Assist with program development, staff training, and workflow improvement.
- Support public education and outreach through newsletters, materials, and events.
- Coordinate scheduling, supplies, and reporting to ensure efficient service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) and appropriate state licensure.
- Clinical experience with neurogenic communication disorders.
- Familiarity with clinical research processes and electronic health records (EHR) preferred.

Anticipated Pay Range:
Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $ 64,557.00 to USD $100,077.00. Duke University considers factors such as ( but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Education
Work requires a Master's degree in Speech Pathology. NC licensure as a Speech Pathologist and a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech/Language Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) is also required.
