Occupational Summary
Classification established to provide a formal Clinical Research internship opportunity for recent college/university graduates. Using a multidisciplinary model, incumbents are assigned responsibilities designed to provide exposure to and gain an overall understanding of the lifecycle of a clinical research project. The internship will generally involve a combination of learning and research support activities under the mentorship of a Principal Investigator (PI). Incumbents will receive regular and ongoing feedback from the mentor and are expected to produce a publication based on their learning experience.
**The duration of this internship is 1 year and work will not exceed 10 hour per week.**
Work Performed
- Management of retrospective database- scoliosis
- Management of retrospective database-neuromuscular patients
- Conducting gait analysis studies for neuromuscular patients (with PT)
- Enrolling patients for prospective research studies and assisting lead clinical research coordinator with relate tasks
- Analysis of data with oversight from PI and study statisticians
- Design and programming of research experiments
- Attend department wide research meetings/training sessions for Interns.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Work requires a Bachelor degree.
Experience
Any previous biomedical or clinical research is preferrable but not required.
Skills
Preferred for candidates to be motivated for career in clinical medicine. Familiarity with Microsoft excel is preferred.
