PROGRAM DIR

Working Title: CLIMATE PROGRAM MANAGER

 

Occupational Summary

 

The Climate Program Manager has primary oversight of managing for and ensuring the programmatic success of the Duke Endowment Climate University Grant. S/he will oversee all activities and provide support as needed to ensure all activities are carried out to meet timelines and achieve stated objectives. A background and in experience in climate related subject matter is needed.

 

Work Performed

 

Operations, Administration, and Project Management of Climate University (CU) programing 40%

 

Plan, coordinate and administer assigned CU project(s) to include developing and implementing procedures, processes, services, and systems to ensure all projects are on track. Make operational and programmatic decisions necessary for successful achievement of program strategies and objectives.

 

Lead administration and development of agendas/support material for CU leadership team including, but not limited, to the Climate Advisory Council and Climate Action Committee.

 

Contribute to the management of CU projects by monitoring project progress and managing timelines, participate on calls and meetings with partners.

 

Assist CU leadership team in coordination of interested faculty, staff and students involvement in CU activities. Potential management of interns and student employees through providing guidance and assigning work products.

 

Financial oversight, grant administration, budget planning 30%

 

Provide administrative support to program initiatives including overseeing different areas of expenditure and coordinating total grant financial management for reporting purposes. This may

entail assisting with tracking program expenses, development and maintenance of project budgets, and grant proposals.

 

Provide administrative assistance on CU purchases.

 

Monitor and verify expenditures of Climate University programming.

 

Ensure compliance with University and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.

Prepare administrative reports for submission to sponsoring agency.

Event planning, coordination, and support 20%

 

Support in the planning and managing events of varying sizes and purposes for outreach/educational programming. Duties include planning and coordination of logistics, developing and managing program budget, planning program details such as speakers, venues, outreach, and publicity.

 

Program Evaluation 10%

 

Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative research techniques. Evaluate and interpret collected data and prepare oral presentations and/or written reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.

 

Coordinate educational program evaluation with the Office of Undergraduate Education
