JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an Associate VP, DHIP - Network Development, Western NC Region to be a senior lead within Duke Health Integrated Practice (DHIP), a member of Duke Health. This position is responsible for driving the strategic development, integration, and operational execution of DHIP’s provider network and ambulatory infrastructure across Western North Carolina—including Lake Norman, Charlotte, and surrounding markets. Reporting to the VP Growth and Network Development, this role serves as an in-market leader to build trust with local physician groups, manage key partnerships, and accelerate clinical expansion aligned with Duke Health’s growth goals.

 

The AVP partners closely with leaders across the Network and Growth team, Ambulatory Operations, Clinicians Services, and system executives to ensure coordinated execution of new site development, acquisitions, recruitment strategies, and regional integration.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead regional network development and physician integration efforts across Lake Norman, Charlotte, and Greensboro areas.
  • Oversee acquisition/integration of new practices and partnerships; manage onboarding of 50+ providers across specialties.
  • Collaborate with DHIP and Duke Health leadership to advance strategic facility expansion plans, including COEs and ambulatory builds.
  • Serve as a senior liaison to local physician leaders, community groups, and hospital executives to maintain engagement and trust.
  • Coordinate market data, financial models, staffing analysis, and ROI scenarios to inform strategic growth decisions.

 

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience in health system or physician network development.
  • Prior experience with acquisitions, clinical integration, or ambulatory growth strategy required.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proven experience leading healthcare network expansion, physician partnerships, or ambulatory strategy.
  • High emotional intelligence with ability to build trust across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Financial acumen to interpret market analysis and business development data.
  • Strong operational background in clinical integration and facility planning.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-site projects and collaborate in matrixed environments.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.

 

JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
