Occ Summary
This position is responsible for understanding and analyzing a Watts College of Nursing/DUHS entity's income statement on a monthly basis. The position will be required to understand the many facets of the operations in order to effectively analyze the numbers. Position is also responsible for overall supervision of financial analysts within the department.

Work Performed
Produces annual budget for WCON in collaboration with the President. Possess a working knowledge of income statements, budgets, capital and operational expenditures. Coordination of ad hoc analysis and reporting. Completes annual financial reporting for DUHS and accrediting bodies. Provides full project level support in the development of financial/operational analysis of programs and services. Provide financial analysis associated with business plans and any other capital expenses. Directly support areas of responsibility of assigned operational leaders in providing a full range of financial support to assist them in the preparation and analysis of financial reports. Prepare and review monthly analysis of income statements, including actual and budget review. Understand underlying transactions on income statement and investigate areas for improvement. Develop and trend analysis to highlight unusual transactions. Presents budget at leadership meetings. Responds in a timely manner to operational requests for information and issue resolution. Complete and analyze key performance indicators for WCON in relation to comparable organization and annual targets. Completes purchases as needed for organizational initiatives. Processes statements from vendors in a timely manner. Initiates deposits into assigned accounts in a timely manner. Processes and reconciles credit card statements monthly. Works collaboratively with financial aid office for student billing. Can effectively and efficiently work on simultaneous projects with minimal supervision. Works closely with operational leaders on several projects; therefore, professionalism and knowledge of business are important at a high level. Position is also responsible for preparing documentation, therefore, good written communication skills are important
Assist with overall building management and operations. Coordinates vendors and suppliers as needed. Serves as administrator for building key fob system. Works collaboratively with building vendors to ensure that issues are addressed in a timely manner
Works collaboratively with Financial Aid, Bursar, Billing and Student Information Support & Systems offices. Actively participates in projects to improve administrative workflow and processes. Serves as Lead contact for Financial Aid office. Processes student billing in a timely manner. Completes annual reporting and process payments for accrediting bodies per designated due dates. Produces student and organizational data needed for balanced scorecard and as reportable to institutional and accrediting bodies.
Supervises administrative staff to include Coordinator for Registration & Enrollment, Coordinator for Student Affairs and Coordinator for Billing and Finance. Completes organizational payroll on a monthly basis. Works collaboratively with alumni and donors. Reconciles student awards and scholarships per schedule.

Level Characteristics
This position will be required to work on simultaneous projects with minimals uper vision from Finance leadership. Position will work closely on numerous projects with Financial Analysts, other DUHS Finance Managers, Corporate Finance, and General Accounting. Position will work closely with operational leaders on several projects; therefore, professionalism and knowledge of business are important at a high level. Position is also responsible for preparing documentation; therefore, good written communication skills are important.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
BA/BS in Business or Accounting or related business field.
Master's degree preferred
Experience
This position requires three years or more of experience in financial accounting and reporting.
Experience working with Financial Aid, Bursar, Billing and SISS preferred.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
MBA, MHA or Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
