Title: Assistant Wrestling Coach
Position Summary:
Duke University is seeking a qualified candidate for the Assistant Wrestling Coach Position. This position will assist the Head Coach with all phases of a Division I Wrestling program including organizing, planning and coaching.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for assisting with phases of a Division I Wrestling program, within University, ACC and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Coach and instruct student-athletes, teaching the fundamentals to prepare student-athletes participating in the sport
- Assist with recruiting
- Assist with travel planning
- Assist with practice planning, scouting and preparation
- Maintaining necessary compliance documents
- Assist with home competition operations
- Other duties as assigned by the head coach
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Prior coaching experience preferably at the Division I level required
- A commitment to knowing and complying with NCAA, ACC, and institutional rules.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Knowledge of intercollegiate sports operations
- Ability to travel extensively during the recruiting process
- Ability to work in a highly dynamic and diverse university setting
