Title:  Assistant Wrestling Coach

 

Position Summary:

Duke University is seeking a qualified candidate for the Assistant Wrestling Coach Position. This position will assist the Head Coach with all phases of a Division I Wrestling program including organizing, planning and coaching.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for assisting with phases of a Division I Wrestling program, within University, ACC and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Coach and instruct student-athletes, teaching the fundamentals to prepare student-athletes participating in the sport
  • Assist with recruiting
  • Assist with travel planning
  • Assist with practice planning, scouting and preparation
  • Maintaining necessary compliance documents
  • Assist with home competition operations
  • Other duties as assigned by the head coach

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Prior coaching experience preferably at the Division I level required
  • A commitment to knowing and complying with NCAA, ACC, and institutional rules.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate sports operations
  • Ability to travel extensively during the recruiting process
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic and diverse university setting
