The Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) is seeking an Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator to join our Admissions and Recruitment team. In this highly visible role, you will help shape the future of nursing by recruiting, advising, and supporting prospective students from initial inquiry through enrollment. You will serve as a key ambassador for the School of Nursing, guiding applicants through the admissions process, building relationships with prospective students, and developing recruitment strategies that support enrollment goals across academic programs.
This position combines admissions expertise, student engagement, event planning, data analysis, and marketing outreach. You will work closely with academic program leaders, admissions committees, and university partners to deliver an exceptional candidate experience while helping the School of Nursing attract and enroll outstanding students.
Minimum Requirements
- Generally requires a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of experience as an Admissions Officer or the equivalent at a comparable college or university.
- Experience evaluating applicant credentials and applying established admissions policies and procedures.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience utilizing databases, CRM platforms, or student information systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education admissions or enrollment management.
- Knowledge of graduate and professional student recruitment practices.
- Experience planning recruitment events, information sessions, webinars, and campus visit programs.
- Experience with out-of-state recruitment and travel.
- Familiarity with international student admissions processes and visa requirements.
- Experience developing recruitment strategies focused on increasing access and opportunities for underrepresented student populations.
- Experience managing marketing content, websites, and digital recruitment communications.
Other Requirements
- Occasional evening and weekend work required to support recruitment events and programs.
- Regular travel required for recruitment activities, educational fairs, and institutional visits.
- Ability to deliver presentations to groups of varying sizes.
- Must maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and customer service.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders.

As an Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator, you will:
- Evaluate and manage admissions applications by reviewing applicant credentials, monitoring application progress, coordinating admissions decisions, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with established admissions policies and procedures.
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies that build prospective student pipelines, increase application and enrollment yields, and support achievement of enrollment goals across assigned academic programs.
- Serve as a trusted resource for prospective students by providing personalized guidance regarding admissions requirements, academic programs, financial considerations, student life, and enrollment processes.
- Coordinate and lead recruitment programs and events, including information sessions, webinars, campus visits, educational fairs, interview days, and other on-campus or virtual engagement opportunities.
- Analyze admissions and recruitment data to assess program effectiveness, monitor enrollment trends, prepare reports, recommend improvements, and support strategic recruitment planning.
- Collaborate with academic programs and admissions committees to facilitate application review processes, communicate applicant status updates, and support admission decision-making activities.
- Manage admissions communications and marketing initiatives by maintaining recruitment materials, reviewing website content, coordinating digital communications, and supporting marketing campaigns that promote the School of Nursing's programs.
- Maintain and monitor recruitment budgets related to travel, events, and special projects, ensuring responsible stewardship of departmental resources.
- Build relationships with educational institutions, healthcare organizations, academic advisors, alumni, and university partners to expand awareness of DUSON programs and strengthen recruitment pipelines.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by evaluating admissions and recruitment activities, developing annual assessments, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and implementing strategies to improve outcomes.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $61,026.00 to USD $90,515.00.
