The Duke Initiative for Science & Society is seeking an Administrative Intern, Trustworthy Technology Lab to support the newly established Trustworthy Technology Lab. In this role, you will help advance research and partnerships focused on trustworthy technology while working closely with the Science & Society Director and a multidisciplinary team of students and researchers.
You will contribute to international collaborations, help launch innovative research initiatives, support program operations, and assist with the development of publications, presentations, and communications that promote the lab's work.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Cybersecurity, Health Policy, Technology Policy, or a related field is generally required.
- No additional experience beyond education is required. An Equivalent combination of relevant education/experience will be considered.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Demonstrated attention to detail and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Arts in Public Policy or related field
- Minimum of one year of experience in program administration, academic, instructional, or related activities, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Knowledge of or experience working in technology policy, health policy, or a related area
- Substantive knowledge in at least one area at the intersection of ethics and innovation, such as health, artificial intelligence, privacy, climate, or cybersecurity
- Experience in relationship management, project management, reporting, and communications

- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and manage projects effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders

In this role, you will:
- Cultivate relationships with international agencies to identify and develop joint research opportunities.
- Initiate and support trustworthy technology research projects.
- Recruit, onboard, and manage a multidisciplinary team of students conducting research related to trustworthy technology.
- Author and contribute to publications, blogs, presentations, and other communications that highlight research outcomes.
- Support program administration, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and project coordination activities for the Trustworthy Technology Lab.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $20.00 to USD $24.00.
