Clinical Services Nurse II

Job Summary:

We are seeking a CLINICAL SERVICE NURSE II to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide strong clinical and interpersonal skills and collaboration with management to oversee daily activities that support positive staff/employee/patient relationships.

 

Job Summary:

  • Clinic Coordination:  Coordinate with Heart Center Communications and Staff Assistants to assure clinics full of appropriate patients;  obtain new patient records and images, organize, tab them for MD review; ensure return patients have necessary tests/labs; surgical clearance -send to necessary MD; schedule and reschedule makeup clinics
  • During Clinic:  Conduct pre-visit with patients if time allows and report out to provider; collaborate/coordinate with clinic staff to recheck vital signs as needed; perform interrogation of cardiac implanted device and upload report into server,  educate patients regarding labs, procedures, medications, diseases; tee up orders for  tests/procedures-caths/TEE/CV/Stress echo as needed; assist with scheduling CT and CMRI procedures, coordinate hospital admissions, que all refills in clinic-AEMR and review with Providers.
  • During Remote Monitoring: Download interrogation from device website, review for scheduled and unscheduled transmissions on urgent/concerning issues per protocol, and upload preliminary report into server (Scottcare). Assign report to provider.
  • Clinic follow-up:  Follow up to assure labs/procedures are completed, discuss abnormal results with provider, call patients with explanation of abnormal results, annotate normal results and forward to patients via MyChart or mail only if no MyChart account. Coordinate labs/studies with outside facilities, obtain appointments with specialists and coordinate w/pt., review all grid sheets after clinic-to ensure items were completed.
  • Triage:  Manage incoming patient calls, coordinate plans with providers, and return patient calls.  Manage prescription refills as directed by provider.  Complete prior authorizations, patient/insurance requested forms, and coordinate referrals.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

 

 

Job Eligibility Requirements:

  • Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN program.
    • Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within five years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
  • Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
  • Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.

 

 

Job Schedule:

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
